# Introduction
The Witness is a [[Class|Shaker]] class that embodies subterfuge and information gathering. Spry and knowledgeable, they focus on being the eyes and ears needed for their team. Usually urban dwellers, they are natural researchers, self taught, and usually find their way into adventure purely by accident as they seek answers no one else seems to know or care about. Witnesses are careful planners and notoriously well prepared for any scenario. They often act like they’re flying by on the seat of their pants, but they usually have multiple scenarios running through their head as they adapt to each situation as it changes.

Witnesses come from every corner of society, each one with distinct flavors of skills they can bring to the table. Some are investigators by trade, using their experience with the law to enforce it, or to subvert it. Others are unassuming archivists and librarians, relentless researchers in uncovering secrets kept hidden from the public. And others are aspiring playwrights and actors, finding it rather easy to assume the roles society expects, using the world as their stage to achieve their ends. Each professional affinity lends itself uniquely to the Witness in their pursuit to observe. Witnesses take two professional affinities, and use those affinities' aspects along with the standard aspect, known as the Eye Aspect.
