# Introduction
Tetronics is the practice of imbuing magic into mathematical operations based on [[The Atheneum|Kernel Theory]]. Tetronists apply magical intent and focus on the fundamental understanding of bonds and formulaic identifications of kernels and gestalts. Mastering Tetronics is incredibly precise and requires unparalleled concentration. While in laboratory settings, practicioners are usually able to cast simple spells unaided, for most practical casting, a [[Kernetics]] [[Main Glossary|Tome]] is required. While incantations and gestures are often used to assist the spellcasting, the primary conductor of the spells is mentally understanding the complex interactions of the materials as you focus on manipulating the mana precisely. Incantations and gestures are simply mnemonics to assist the caster.
# Practice
Expert mathematicians and kernetists have long since complained of involuntary proprioceptive thoughts of equations after years of practice and immediately after hours of study. Tetronics is the practice to harness magic within one's self and overcharge this trance-like state, allowing one's mental processes to rewrite the kernels in their vicinity and shape reality. Because the proprioceptive visions of bonds and equations accompany this trance-like state, it is often referred to as "The Tetra Effect".
# Tetronics Tome
A Tetronics Tome is a study tome filled with Kernetics equations. When one becomes a Tetronist, they begin collecting diagrams for specific gestalts.
During play, tetronists will have tome chapters "equipped". When a tome chapter is equipped, casters may use any gestalt within that tome chapter without needing to worry about the speed of looking up the complex equation. By default, Tetronic Tome chapters are organized by Gestalt families. Searching for a different chapter to "equip" and cast from is a [[Actions|Full Action]].
Tetronists may invest an [[Aspects and Proficiencies|Aspect Point]] into their Tetronics Tome. This creates a "custom tome chapter", which allows them to quickly access four gestalts (or kernels) of their choosing. This custom chapter is temporarily permanent, and can only be rewritten at the end of a [[Chapters|Chapter of Play]]. A Tetronist can have up to four custom tome chapters. These upgrades are tied to the physical tome, which may be lost. Great care must be taken of your tome.
# Equation Tiles
When a Tetronic spell is cast, it requires the expenditure of [[Hitpoints and Willpower|Willpower]] and "Equation Tiles". Equation Tiles signify ones' concentration and equation familiarity. As one grows in the practice of Tetronics, the amount of Equation Tiles they have access to will increase. When Equation Tiles are used, they are considered "spent" until the caster's next rest.
Casting during narrative segments simply requires the use of any unspent tile. Casting during combat segments however, effects the shape of the spell. Equation Tiles are made of 2 square meter tiles (The same squares used for combat maps), and can include up to 5 of these squares. When these spells are used, the shape of the spell effect must take on the shape of the tile used, and at least one square must be adjacent (diagonally adjacent is fine). Equation Tiles cannot overlap with walls under most circumstances.
# Aspect and Facets
When Tetronics is taken as an aspect, the following facets may be taken when invested in. Additionally, you may find these equations out in the world, and copy them into your tome. Keep in mind that when studied out in the world, all these spells are gestalt specific; when taken during an aspect upgrade, these spells are universal.
## Tetronics 0
These facets are automatically ascribed to your character when you take the Tetronics Aspect.
