# Introduction
When learning Tarot, there is only one [[The Minor Arcana|Minor Arcana]] [[Aspects and Proficiencies|Aspect]], which rules the general facets available to those who practice Tarot. Major Arcana have individual aspects and facet lists to choose from. This is closely tied to [[Wild Magik|Magik]]
## Assembly
While sometimes used for play, the Tarot cards usually designed by particular artisans who imbue mana during the process of painting. The cards resonate only once they have been compiled into a balanced suit. Card suits properly imbued with mana are known as Arcana (plural) or Arcanum (singular). Tarot decks are compiled with four or more [[The Minor Arcana|Minor Arcana]] and may include any number of Major Arcana suits, including zero. Additionally, a deck may consist of a single stand alone Major Arcanum.
Minor Arcanum are devised of 16 cards: Ace, Duet, Trio, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Dek, El, Dozen, Sovereign, Monarch, Crown, Halo.
## Basic Toolkit
When you take the Tarot Invocation Aspect, you can equip a deck in one hand. When combat begins or when you equip a deck, you start by pulling three cards instantly. You cannot equip and unequip to keep changing these cards. You may invoke the cards' power through a contact cast, a process in which the cards physical nature is consumed by mana, affects the target, and then is returned and rematerialized in the deck. You may draw another card from your equipped deck as an action. When you draw a card for a full action or invoke a card through a contact cast, no Willpower is expended. Unless otherwise modified, your default maximum hand size is 5 cards. Your proficiency with Tarot Decks as a weapon is your Tarot Aspect level.
When you use a deck with Minor Arcana, you draw for the Arcanum by rolling a d10. You and your Narrator should keep a list of which number corresponds to which Arcanum. If you roll a number for an Arcanum you do not have, you reroll. The 10 on a d10 always represents the Joker, a wild card. Certain facets may influence what this card does. Without any facets, it is simply a dead roll, and ends the draw action without gaining a card. You roll a d16 for the number in a minor Arcanum: 1 for Ace, and 16 for Halo. Major Arcanum have their own specific die to roll.
You may attempt to cast magic from a tarot card during the Narrative, approximately once per scene. When you do so, you draw for a single card, and you MUST use whatever card is drawn.
