# Introduction The Cups are associated with [[Hydron]], and the color Blue. They usually deal with emotions and Will. A fulfilment of what is lacking and satisfying the needs of others. Sanity and Clarity are often associated with the Cups Arcanum. # Cards ## Ace of Cups The card depicts a golden chalice. Five springs of water pour out, and a dove pulls out a white orb inscribed with the Arsaid sigil representing the self. Lotus flowers grow on lily pads on a flowing sea beneath into which the springs of water pour. This card represents clarity and unity with the senses, love, and cleansing energy flowing through. ## Duet of Cups The card depicts a fey and and a human exchanging cups. A chimera sleeps between their feet, and snakes interweave around the cups, one from each cup, and interlock, joining around a rod that they hold within themselves. This card represents emotional bonds and partnerships, respect, and a balance of energy and power. It also symbolizes union and conception. ## Trio of Cups The card depicts a fey, a human, and an elf standing in a circle, all nude, all smiling, in a revelry. All three have chalices of wine raised in a toast, each cup held to the lips of their counterpart on their right. The fruits of a good harvest lie at their feet, and flowers decorate their hair. This card represents unified energy, friendship, celebration, and the success of a group effort. ## Four of Cups The card depicts a keuri, sitting by a tree, arms crossed. There is an encampment in the distant background; clearly the keuri has come to be alone. The keuri stares dejectedly at three goblets of water, not seeing a goblet of wine sitting behind the tree. This card represents discontentment, particularity, negligence, sloth, discomfort, distraction, apathy, and fickleness. ## Five of Cups The card depicts an inari weeping in a black cloak, three cracked glasses on the ground. Behind them are two glasses in perfect condition. Behind, a bridge leads over a river and to a house with a smoking chimney. This card represents materialism, obsession with the feeling of sadness, scruples, guilt, and the fear of failure. ## Six of Cups The card depicts a korrigan harvest festival, with two children gifting each other flowers in cups. The sky is a clear dark blue, and it seems the first star has begun to twinkle in the evening sky. This card represents nostalgia, childhood innocence, contentment, beautiful memories, and simpler times. ## Seven of Cups The card depicts a fey staring into the clouds above. In the sky are seven chalices, each holding something different: a horn of stone, a miniature dragon, a collection of gemstones, the tail of a fox with golden bands around it, a large erect penis with fur near the base, a collection of giant teeth and a giant tongue, and a pillow of silk. This card represents temptation, decision, dreams, and desires. It also represents being ungrounded, too focused on the abstract to pay attention to the world around you. ## Eight of Cups The card depicts a keuri leaving behind eight ornate gem-laden goblets made of gold. The keuri leaves for the mountains ahead, a river now separating them from their previous possessions. Night paints the scene. This card represents unattachment to the material, searching for adventure, experiences over possessions, and dissatisfaction with the static status quo. ## Nine of Cups The card depicts an inari sitting on a wooden bench at the market, behind them sits 9 golden cups, clearly for sale. The inari wears a large red cap, arms crossed satisfied, clearly successful and proud of their accomplishments. This card represents fulfillment and success, mostly spiritually but also materially. True self-satisfaction and accomplishment. ## Dek of Cups The card depicts a perfect stack of cups: 4, 3, 2, 1. A rainbow shines above them, and a green pasture can be seen in the background, with a babbling brook running through it. The Dek of Cups represents true fulfillment and joy, a peaceful future, and happily ever after. ## El of Cups The card depicts a kobold dressed in black, in a dimly lit room, drinking from goblets left out on a table. Through an open doorway, a gnome can be seen sleeping next to a fireplace, unaware. The El of Cups represents emotional abuse, taking advantage of the goodness in others, and preying on the emotions of others. ## Dozen Cups The card depicts a group of cloaked figures in a line, each holding a cup. A jötunn has clearly already drank from five of the cups, and is leaning forward to drink from the sixth, as it is offered to them. The cloaked hoods stare at the Jotunn, unmoving. This card represents taking in the emotions around you and succumbing to their whims, the blurring of identity, and giving up self-control. ## Sovereign of Cups The Sovereign of Cups is dressed in blue, standing on the shore, with the sea behind them. They hold a cup, in which a fish appears, surprising them. The Sovereign of Cups represents creative opportunities, surprising emotions, and hidden meanings. ## Monarch of Cups The Monarch of Cups stands amidst a desert, pouring out their cup held over their head. They wear sandals with wings, and a white crown adorns them. At their feet, grass and flowers spring forth. The Monarch of Cups represents romance, charm, and valuing emotions over logic. ## Crown of Cups The Crown of Cups sits on a throne on an island, surrounded by waves. They hold a cup, one hand underneath, and another on top, closing the cup. Their eyes are closed in meditation. Fish swim in the waters below. This card depicts the crowned [[Brianne Aldbine]], daughter of [[Volundr Aldbine]]. The Crown of Cups represents mastery of emotions, compassion, caring, and stability. This card is focused on the reality of emotional stability in the self. ## Halo of Cups The Halo of Cups depicts a close up of several Cups being poured into a single Cup. From each Cup comes a hermetic element, pouring like liquid into a center Cup. This Cup is filled with a green material that is both liquid and gas: a manifestation of magik. On this Cup, a symbol of the sun and the moon are etched. This design glows with green light. The Halo of Cups represents diplomacy, devotion, and advice. This card is focused on the external expressions of emotional stability.
