# Introduction Statuses are passive descriptors that modify a character. There are positive statuses: Stances, Mindsets and Auras. And there are negative statuses: Afflictions, Wounds, Poisons, and Illnesses. # Positive Statuses ## Stances Stances are physical statuses of the body. You may only have one stance at a time. Stances can be switched between easily during encounters by simply spending a second. ## Universal Stances - [[Search]] - [[Prone]] ## Mindsets Mindsets are mental statuses of the body. You typically may only have one mindset at a time. Mindsets are decided at the start of an encounter. ## Auras Auras are spiritual statuses of the body. One only aura may be equipped at a time. Auras may only be changed during any [[Reserves|Restoration Scene]]. All Auras have colors associated with them. - [[Burning Passion]] - Sensitive (Ochre) - Glowing (Saffron) - [[Shining Example]] - [[Nurturing Spirit]] - Drowning (Navy) - [[Tranquility]] - Chilling (Violet) - [[Reserved Manner]] - [[Formidable Presence]] # Negative Statuses ## Afflictions Afflictions are temporary negative status effects that are removed either immediately after the threat is removed, or will resolve during a specific [[Reserves|Restoration Scene]]. ## Wounds Wounds are serious injuries that will not heal naturally after battle without intervention or special care. If a wound is infected or badly managed, it may develop into a [[Scars|Scar]]. ## Illnesses Illnesses are contagious afflictions that can last for a week or longer, usually have significantly negative effects, and may not resolve without specific cures. ## Poisons Poisons are afflictions that often resemble illnesses, but are not contagious. There are a variety of ways that poisons can be applied. ### Poison Applications - **Infection** delivery works through the bloodstream, typically from a wound. These poisons are often applied to weapons. - **Topical** delivery methods are poisons that are absorbed to the skin. Most natural plant poisons are topical. - **Inhalation** refers to gaseous poisons that infect as an aerosol. These poisons are typically very difficult to control. - **Ingestion** is the most common poison method. It must be consumed by the target, and is usually the most reliable application for the body.
