# Description
**Melee attacks** in this position are at **disadvantage**, and melee attacks against a prone character have **advantage**. It also imposes **disadvantage** on ranged attacks against the prone character. Speed is halved for the duration.
Prone may be entered into as a stance as a free action/reaction, or be inflicted by an attack. Either way, the status is persistent until ended with [[Shift Stance]]
