[[Almandine]] gems are often used by dvergr in battle to offer protection and enhance their fighting. These gems are usually inlaid in armor or weapons. When the wearer is critically attacked, the gem activates, preventing damage with a powerful shield, and ensures the wielder’s next attack during that battle hits regardless of the roll. Once used, the gems cracks and dissipates. However, those attuned with Almandine gems are able to resonate the reserve of their willpower with the gems, and keep them together, preventing them from breaking, but instead draining them of their current lustre. The gems will be deactivated for the remainder of the battle, but will charge and be ready for use in the next encounter. Attuned dvergr may maintain up to three gems this way.
