# Introduction
Petra is a family of gestalts in Atheneum.
# Primary Gestalt
## Petra
Primary Recipe: [[Geon]]+[[Pyron]]
Designations: Stone, Factor
Petra is the prime gestalt of the petra family. When used individually, it creates smooth pebbles of similar make to sediment, although each pebble is notably stronger than sediment.
# Secondary Gestalts
## Ignis
Firestone
Primary Recipe: [[Pyron]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Product
This stone gives off low levels of heat. When fashioned into equipment, ignis can prevent low-level cold status effects.
## Cryonis
Icestone
Primary Recipe: [[Cryos]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Product
Cryonis is a mineral that remains cold to the touch, despite its surroundings. It works as a low level refrigerant, and can stave off heat exhaustion.
## Sediment
Cobblestone/Gravel
Primary Recipe: [[Aer]]+Stone
Designations: Stone, Product
Sediment, sometimes known as cobblestone or gravel, is stone marked by the erosion of air. Sediment is usually rough, but not particulary strong nor particularly reactive as a stone type. When ground properly, it becomes [[Konis|Sand]].
## Protolith
Deepstone
Primary Recipe: [[Geon]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Product
Protolith is a stone type found deep underground. This stone is unbreakable when exposed to high levels of heat and pressure. However, in the absence of heat or pressure, Protolith becomes significantly weaker and reverts to Sediment.
## Lode
Magnesis/Lodestone
Primary Recipe: [[Elektron]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Factor
Lode is a magnetic stone material. This stone forms the basis for mana charge stones and metal gestalts.
## Lime
Limestone
Primary Recipe: [[Hydron]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Powder, Pigment, Factor
Lime is a stone eroded by water and strengthened mineral deposits. It can be used as an adhesive, and is often used in city construction as a primary material. When ground to a powder, it is commonly used as a white pigment.
## Laterite
Rainstone
Primary Recipe: [[Nephon]]+Petra
Designations: Stone, Product
Laterite is a reddish stone that has been weathered by rain. Strengthened by mineral deposits, laterite is a dependable building material and is a crucial factor for several metals.
## Shale
Claystone
Primary Recipe: Petra+[[Geon|Clay]]
Designations: Stone, Product
Defined by its fissility, Shale often breaks into thin layers and shards.
