# Introduction
While many calendars have been used in the history of the world, the Coligny Calendar, the standard of the [[Aldbine Empire]], would eventually be adopted in every corner of the world. Originating from [[Kingsmill Plains]], the calendar was developed by ancient farmers. The calendar has four seasons, eight months, four weeks, and six days.
When speaking the date formally, the order is year, week, day, month
(i.e. "3019th Marching Crion of Shiver"). However, casually speaking, the year is almost always omitted.

# Months
- ## Avair
- The month of Ogair and Sal. As the world begins to thaw, nature awakens. Snow occurs less often and hibernating flora and fauna begin to awaken.
- ## Firue
- The month of Sal. The rains of life begin to fall across the land. Trees regrow their leaves, and flowers begin to bloom. This is the prime month for sowing most crops.
- ## Dalloch
- The month of Sal and Doth. The sun begins to warm the earth during this most critical growth period for most plants.
- ## Scorch
- The month of Doth. The world is baked in the heat of the sun. Dehydration is a concern during this month.
- ## Murk
- The month of Doth and Bas. A time of harvest. Farmers race against time to beat the approaching march of the next month.
- ## Deluge
- The month of Bas. The rains of death flood the earth, destroying any flora and fauna ill-prepared for the harsh weather conditions.
- ## Shine
- The month of Bas and Ogair. Frost begins to cover the earth as the waters of Deluge recede. While some flora and fauna have already hibernated prior to the flooding of the earth, a majority of hibernation begins to take place during this month.
- ## Shiver
- The month of Ogair. Freezing winds grip the earth and blizzards blow across the land. Wildlife that remains awake lives through a fierce battle for survival.
# Weeks
The four weeks of the Coligny Calendar are March, Ides, Twigh, and Fade.
## March
Days of March are considered to be "Marching". These days are seen as proclaiming the new month proudly.
## Ides
The Ides of a month have days that are referred to be "hiding" within said month. In some regions, the days are said to be "idling", as if they are days sitting in reserve.
## Twigh
The Twigh week of a month has days that are "Twinkling", signifying the end of the month in sight. Some say the twinkling refers instead to the "treasure" of the month, holding the fruit of the month within it.
## Fade
The Fading week of a month are the final days of the month, disappearing before our eyes. These days truly are "fading".
# Days
The six days of the Coligny Calendar are: **Sam**, **Cor**, **Fas**, **Beal**, **Gib**, **Crion**.
