# Introduction
Kernetics is the [[The Atheneum|Atheneum]] study of molecular structure derived from Kernel Theory. It has practical uses in both the other branches of the Atheneum, and the magical system of [[Tetronics]].
# Kernels
The four Kernels are the Atheneum's four fundamental elements: Aer, Geon, Pyron, and Hydron. When calculating these kernels in molecular structures, they maintain the full force and influence of their respective elements, but individually, the kernels are seeds of latent power.
# Gestalts
Gestalts are complex structures and bonds formed between kernels and other gestalts. These structural bonds create the basis for all things, and are building blocks to the larger physical world we observe.
## Designations
Gestalts are listed with designated keywords: designations. These designations refer to their states of matter, specific functionalities, or research classifications.
### States of Matter
The following are designations of states of matter
- Gas
- Stone
- Terrain
- Liquid
- Gel
- Powder
- Crystal
- Weather
- Plasma
- Beam
### Factor
The factor designation refers to highly reactive gestalts that develop significantly more gestalts when combined with other factor gestalts. These gestalts form the core of the Wissensbaum.
### Product
The product designation is given to gestalts that are not factor gestalts. Most products have no additional bonds that expand the knowledge of the Wissenbaum. Some products do have notable bonds, but are limited in scope, and are relegated to footnotes on the chart.
### Pigment
The pigment designation is a research classification to certain dye color gestalts that can have wide and unexpected results during expirementation. Their strong influence is difficult to understand, but they remain notable and are key gestalts in a Kernetists' research materials.
### Phenomenon
The phenomenon designation refers to gestalts that dissipate soon after coming into existence. They are unstable forms and break down into their formative kernels soon after coming into existence.
## Gestalt Families
When the properties of gestalts are studied, they are typically organized into "families", making them easier to understand in relation to one another.
- [[Aer]]
- [[Pyron]]
- [[Geon]]
- [[Hydron]]
- [[Konis]]
- [[Cryos]]
- [[Nephon]]
- [[Petra]]
- [[Elektron]]
- [[Phyton]]
## Gestalt Factors
When studying operations, gestalts are typically classified into tiers, starting with the Primary Gestalts derived from the Kernic Bonds, and Secondary Gestalts developing from the bonds formed from Primary Gestalts. When studying Kernetics, it is common to learn and memorize the Gestalt factors by tiers.
### Primary Gestalt Factors
- Elektron
- Clay
- Konis
- Cryos
- Nephon
- Petra
### Secondary Gestalt Factors
- Ash
- Gel
- Lime
- Lode
- Loam
- Nodule
- Ochre
- Photon
- Rain
- Salt
- Sand
- Steam
- Umber
# Wissensbaum
The Wissensbaum is the primary organizational structure of knowlege for Kernetics. This chart is the backbone of research, and the primary point of knowledge for all known Kernetics. There are six layers of knowledge, each layer building on the previous. While plenty of scholars venture far beyond the Wissensbaum in their studies, the Wissensbaum is the only established scientific consensus taught at universities. Kernetics is approaching a point in which a seventh layer may be added in the future, but the arguments for updating the chart are still ongoing.
