# Introduction
Fog Deserts are hot, humid, and nearly barren. While somewhat resemble Dustbowl and Shadow Deserts superficially; mountain coverage, elevation, or some other factor has led to the air being constantly thick and full of moisture. It is nearly impossible to see further than two meters in front of one's face. When small pockets of a Fog Desert form inside a Shadow, Dune, or Dustbowl desert, these pockets are referred to as a Lomas, or Mist Oasis.
# Environment Fluctuation
Fog Deserts have a similar seasonal structure to [[Rainforest|rainforests]]. However, instead of Humid and Arid Seasons, the seasons are referred to as Low Seasons and High Seasons. High and Low here refer to the height of the fog over the ground. There's about a month of transition between these seasons as the fog rises, usually referred to as Shoulder Season. During Shoulder season (usually [[Coligny Calendar|Dalloch]] and [[Coligny Calendar|Shiner]]), specimen from both seasons have a chance of being found, although usually weighted towards the incoming season.
