# Introduction
Damage is a number that usually reduces the amount of [[Hitpoints and Willpower|Hitpoints]] an [[Entities]] has. Occasionally, damage will affect [[Hitpoints and Willpower|Willpower]] instead.
# Damage Types
Damage Type refers to the method damage is applied to a target.
## Beam
Damage that coalesces into a focused cylinder forward. Almost always magical
## Blunt
Solid physical beatings, often the domain of staves and clubs.
## Concussive
Damage that rings through the target, ignoring armor. Serious power usually relegated to war hammers.
## Corrosive
Damage that eats and decays the target
## Crushing
Devastating damage usually caused by the environment
## Hacking
Deep lacerations embedded in the target, resulting in devastating damage. Typically dealt by axes.
## Piercing
Deep, puncturing attacks. Typically the damage dealt by lances, swords, daggers, and arrows. Stick ‘em with the pointy end.
## Radiant
Damage that is showered upon the target like a sun ray. This damage also covers explosive damage and light showering damage from harmful liquids.
## Slashing
Lacerations to the front of the target, long and shallow. Often the work of blades.
## Torrential
High volume and high pressure liquid damage.
