# Description
Most shields are simply classified according to shape. The buckler is the primary exception to that rule. While its circular shape would normally have it classified as a [[Targe]], the small nature of the buckler allows it to be strapped to the wrist or forearm like a bracer, or else be used as an active shielding option by being gripped in the hand and held outwards.
Attacking with a buckler when strapped to the forearm is always a shield bash.
